| Synopsis |
Cosmology
has become a leading science and science of precision in the
21st Century. At the turn of 21st century human beings are
capable of exploring the edge of the Universe or, equivalently,
the moment of the very early universe shortly after the Big
Bang. Cosmology is an arena, where the fundamental physics
together with general relativity plays an important and crucial
role.
Here in the Asia Pacific Region including mainland China,
Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Australia, there emerge a large number
of cosmologists and particle astrophysicists, most of them
in their young ages. It is important that we participate in
this round of competing for this kind of new knowledge.
CosPA (International Symposium on Cosmology and Particle Astrophysics)
is a series of conference, which is intended a world leading
conference in the Asia Pacific region. The 1st Symposium in
2002 was attended by G. Smoot, who won a novel prize for his
discovery of the blackbody distribution and anisotropy observation
of CMB in 2006. CosPA 2002 was followed by CosPA 2003 , CosPA2006
and CosPA2007 in Taiwan. CosPA2008 will be held at APCTP (Asia
Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics) in Pohang, Korea on
October 29-31, 2008. It is agreed that CosPA2009 will be hosted
by Australia and the next ones by Japan and China. |
