Synopsis
The advances of LIGO and the proposed global interferometer network operated together with VIRGO, GEO600 and TAMA300 will test not only General Relativity but will also bring golden opportunities to the gravitation and cosmology communities world-wide to contribute and develop in the next 10 to 30 years. Researchers in the Asia Pacific area shall make this a prime time to contribute. The last two series of meetings held in Taiwan were designed to prepare ourselves to welcome the dawn of this new era. After Korea, we expect China to host the next meeting in 2010.

Topics
This school/workshop program will aim at the frontier issues in Gravitation and Cosmology, to put forth new ideas, to discuss current issues and finally to propose challenging problems for young physicists. The topics of interest include:
(i) quantum fluctuations in curved spacetime and negative energy density states
(ii) canonical quantization and its applications to black holes and cosmology
(iii) the physics of black hole horizon
(iv) quasi-local expressions and trapped surfaces for dynamical gravitating systems and negative energy Bianchi cosmology
(v) non-equilibrium techniques and cosmological applications
(iv) stochastic gravity
(vii) numerical relativity and astrophysics
(vii) other related issues

In the school, experts will deliver series of talks (two to three hours) from introductory to research level to help students and junior fellows to grasp the essences of the cutting edge developments in Gravitation and Cosmology in an effective way. Each participant of the workshop after the school is expected to deliver a talk on one of the above issues and all participants are expected to discuss the talks and establish research collaborations.
