Venue
- The workshop will be held on the first floor at the main entrance of a building entitled Educational/Industrial Complex Building (San-Hak-Hyeop-Dong-Gwan), Konkuk University, Seoul. The building itself is conveniently located near the south border of the campus that faces the overpass of Seoul Subway Line 2. It is about 5 minutes¡¯ walk from the subway stations (No.232 of Line 2 or No.727 of Line
7). See map.
Accommodation
- The situation for accommodation is not so reliable. There are both very high-end hotels and very low-end hotels located near the venue. However, suitable medium-rate business hotels are quite rare.
- The Hotel Sheraton Walker-Hill (02-455-5000) is probably the most expensive among them. As it is located near the bank of Han River, it commands a superb view of the river. But it is expensive, and very difficult to come and go from Konkuk University without car.
- Ivory Hotel (02-457-5266) is one of the low-end hotels around the campus. However, we cannot recommend these low-end hotels since they insist to rent the rooms by hours nut by days. They do not want to provide room full day.
- In between, a few possible choices are:
Hotel Dong Seoul (02-455-1100),
Hankang Tourist Hotel (02-453-5131, 133,100 Won for standard twin room), and
Seoul Olympic Parktel (02-410-2114, 170,000 Won for standard twin room).
Travel Information
- Access to the venue from public transportations is quite easy. Taking on the subways is the most convenient and reliable way to access the workshop. If you are in or around Seoul, take Seoul Subway Line 2 or 7 until you arrive at Konkuk Univ.
- From Seoul Railway Station, take Seoul Subway Line 1, and transfer to Seoul Subway Line 2 at City Hall (Subway Station No. 201). Take off at Konkuk Univ. station (Subway Station No. 212). It will take about 50 min from Seoul Railway Station to the venue.
- From Kangnam Express Bus Terminal, take Seoul Subway Line 7 and take off at Konkuk Univ. station (Subway Station No. 727). It will take about 30 min to the venue.
- From Incheon International Airport, at Gate 5B or 12A on the arrival floor, there is one of the airport limousine bus services, No.6013, that connects directly from the airport to Konkuk University (the final destination of the bus is Myeonmok-dong, farther north of Konkuk University). It will stop at a bus stop (Konkuk Univ. stop), but you have to walk for 10 minutes from the bus stop across inside the campus until you reach the venue. Or, you take whatever transportation you like at the airport to arrive in downtown in Seoul where you can find the Seoul Subway Line 2 or 7.
