[Purpose]

 

The APCTP Associate Fellow Program fosters long-term academic collaborations between researchers and APCTP’s vibrant research community.
It supports scientists in theoretical physics and related fields by providing opportunities for sustained academic exchanges, intellectual discussions, and access to valuable research resources.
Through these interactions, fellows stay updated on recent developments, participate in interdisciplinary collaborations, and connect with APCTP’s extensive network.

In addition to advancing their research, Associate Fellows are encouraged to engage in APCTP-led initiatives, mentor early-career researchers,
and contribute to the development of scientific communities. By sharing their expertise and collaborating internationally,they help drive innovation and growth in theoretical physics and related disciplines.

 

 

[Eligibility]

 

The following individuals are eligible to apply for APCTP Associate Fellow program:

 

1. Former APCTP members or former program coordinators.

2. Individuals recommended by the APCTP President, Executive Director, or Program Coordinators.

 

The term for an APCTP Associate Fellow is up to five years, with a retirement age limit of 75 years.

• Senior Fellow: Theoretical physicists between the ages of 65 and 75 at the time of application 

• Regular Fellow: Theoretical physicists between the ages of 40 and 64 at the time of application

• Junior Fellow: Promising young theoretical physicists up to the age of 39 at the time of application

 

 

[Visit Guidelines]

 

▶ Visit Duration

 

The maximum visit duration is 60 days per calendar year, and unused days cannot be carried over to the next year.
For the 2025 visit program, visits can be scheduled between February and November.

 

 

▶ Visit Schedule Submission

• Residents of South Korea: Required to submit visit schedule at least 30 days before the intended visit.

• Non-residents of South Korea: Required to submit visit schedule at least 60 days before the intended visit.

 

 

▶ Financial Support and Allowances

 

Accommodation, airfare, and transportation expenses will be reimbursed within the allocated budget, in accordance with APCTP regulations. Additionally, a fixed daily allowance of 50,000 KRW will be provided to cover incidental expenses during the visit.

 

• Flight Tickets: Only economy-class tickets within a reasonable price range are eligible for reimbursement.

• KTX Tickets: Train tickets should be purchased through the official Korail website. (Korail Website)
